Job Description: Psychiatrist will work with a team of nurse practitioners, therapists, case managers, caseworkers and administrative staff to provide mental health services in a well-established clinic that has been serving the community for over 150 years. Psychiatrist will provide care within the STIRS/PROS Program (Southern Tier Integrated Recovery Services/Personalized Oriented Services), MHOTRS (Mental Health Outpatient Treatment and Rehabilitative Services), Jail Services, and AMHS (Adult Mental Health Services). Individual will work as part of the clinical management team and will assist in reviewing measures that provide clinical oversight of treatment programs. Full time and Part time position with option to work remote. There are NO weekend or overnight hours.

Responsibilities:
1. Provide psychiatric services as required under New York State Mental Health Law.
2. Will perform psychiatric evaluations inclusive of client assessment, diagnostic exams, determine treatment approach, assess medication efficacy, provide patient education, respond to emergent client needs and assess for safety.
3. Engage clients from a person-centered approach, addressing medical, behavioral health, long term care and social supports.
4. Review treatment plans and recommend therapeutic approach.
5. Collaborate with clients' treatment team and other agency mental health professionals.
6. Maintain timely documentation as required by governmental regulations, agency procedures, insurance providers, court requests, and other medical providers to insure appropriate care of clients.
7. Develop protocols for the agency's medical treatment of clients.
8. Provide consultation and training to clinical staff.
9. Develop organizational relationships with key personnel in other community service organizations.

Job Hazards: Minimal. Some exposure to violent or acting out clients possible, but very rare.
